2015 Honda Fit · US · 3 stages

Fit: turn a lamp concern into a precise service request

Combine moisture observations with exact lamp and assembly identification so the request distinguishes bulb work, LED assembly service and a moisture investigation.

1 Confirm your vehicle

For 2015 Honda Fit · US, 1.5L gasoline. Confirm the original component against the cited manual.

Select and confirm your vehicle before starting.

Your pack record

Work through the stages in order. Open the linked plans to make the relevant observations, then return here to keep the result.

STAGE 1

Classify the lens observation

Separate temporary mist after rain/washing from large droplets, accumulated water or damage.

Keep: A dated observation of one identified lamp under stated weather/wash conditions.

STAGE 2

Choose the supported lamp path

Match the failed lamp to original halogen, plate-bulb or dealer-serviced LED information.

Keep: Exact lamp position, function, confirmed assembly and the matching repair/inspection request.

STAGE 3

Preserve unresolved evidence

Keep failure and moisture observations together, including any later change.

Keep: A service-ready lamp history with current function, moisture class and open questions.

Review your next step

  • The lamp position and function are explicit.
  • Large water accumulation is routed to inspection.
  • A LED assembly is not assigned a replaceable-bulb procedure.

Include the unresolved items so this record is useful at the next check or service visit.

Complete task plans

Read each linked plan here, or open its task page to keep a separate observation record. Printed copies include every plan.

Check moisture inside exterior lamps

Distinguish light mist after rain / washing from substantial water accumulation.

Vehicle: 2015 Honda Fit · US

Applicability and exclusions

  • Other model years and markets; imported Jazz or Fit Hybrid; modified or aftermarket components with a different procedure.

Preparation, tools and materials

  • Park in a safe place away from traffic. Work with the vehicle stationary, parking brake set and ignition off unless a step explicitly calls for a parked functional check.
  • Can you inspect the cool lamp lenses without removing a light assembly?
  • Keep children and pets away from tools, fluids and coin cells. Never enter underneath the vehicle.
  • Good lighting
  • A local note of recent rain / washing
  • No replacement lamp required for this visual check.

Record the evidence

Describe mist versus distinct droplets or standing water, keeping the same lamp identified in later notes.

  • Lamp position
  • Observed moisture
  • Recent rain, wash or temperature change
  • Earlier and later appearance

Steps

  1. Look at exterior lenses while the vehicle is stationary and lights are off; do not open or drill a lamp housing.
  2. Note recent rain, washing or a marked temperature difference. Honda describes temporary internal fogging in these conditions.
  3. Separate a thin mist from large water droplets or substantial water accumulation.
  4. Record temporary mist for observation. Large droplets or accumulation require dealer inspection; fogging alone is not a reason to replace the lamp.
  5. If a required light fails or the lens is broken, arrange repair before depending on it.
  6. Describe mist versus distinct droplets or standing water, keeping the same lamp identified in later notes.

Decision checks

Can you inspect the cool lamp lenses without removing a light assembly?

  • Yes — ready for this check: Continue with the steps, stopping if the real component differs from the manual.
  • Not yet / not sure: Preparation saved. Return when the condition is confirmed; leave the vehicle untouched.
  • Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or an inoperative required light: Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or failed light: arrange lamp inspection.

Which lens condition did you find?

  • Temporary light mist only, with a functioning intact lamp; monitor it: Is this limited to temporary mist, with no large droplets, accumulation or lamp failure?
  • Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or failed light: arrange lamp inspection.: Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or failed light: arrange lamp inspection.
  • I have only prepared the plan: Plan prepared; no physical maintenance result recorded.

Is this limited to temporary mist, with no large droplets, accumulation or lamp failure?

  • Thin temporary mist only; later observation planned: Temporary light mist only, with a functioning intact lamp; monitor it
  • The observation or repeat check is still incomplete: Plan prepared; no physical maintenance result recorded.
  • Large drops, water accumulation or a failed lamp: Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or failed light: arrange lamp inspection.

Recheck

At a later parked observation, is temporary mist clearing or are large droplets/accumulation present?

Stop and get help if

  • Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or an inoperative required light
  • Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or failed light: arrange lamp inspection.
  • A part, label, connector or fastener differs from the cited manual; access requires raising the vehicle; you cannot identify the correct component.

Keep for service

Take the recorded observations, their dates and any actual work history to the service provider. Large droplets, pooled water, broken lens or failed light: arrange lamp inspection.

Identify a failed lamp and the service path

Make a lamp-location and configuration record before buying a bulb or opening an assembly.

  • Can you identify the failed lamp from outside with the vehicle safely parked?
  • Keep children and pets away from tools, fluids and coin cells. Never enter underneath the vehicle.
  • Existing failure notes
  • Owner manual lamp pages
  • No bulb until the assembly is positively identified

Record the evidence

Name the lamp and confirmed assembly, then record the matching action without opening an uncertain housing.

  • Failed lamp position and function
  • Assembly identification
  • Moisture, damage or visible wiring concern
  • Matched bulb task or dealer request

Steps

  1. Record the exact failed position and function. The original halogen headlight uses 60/55 W H4/HB2; the replacement task applies only after that assembly is confirmed.
  2. The brake/tail/rear-side-marker and high-mount brake lights on printed page 378 are LED assemblies. Honda directs a dealer to inspect and replace those assemblies.
  3. An original license-plate lamp has its own 5 W bulb and retention procedure on printed page 379. Record it separately from a rear LED assembly.
  4. Record whether the lens has temporary mist, large droplets, accumulated water or damage. Large droplets/accumulation need inspection.
  5. Save the lamp position, confirmed assembly and symptoms for the matching bulb task or dealer. If the housing or wiring differs, keep it closed and request an identification check.
  6. Name the lamp and confirmed assembly, then record the matching action without opening an uncertain housing.

Decision checks

Can you identify the failed lamp from outside with the vehicle safely parked?

  • Yes — ready for this check: Continue with the steps, stopping if the real component differs from the manual.
  • Not yet / not sure: Preparation saved. Return when the condition is confirmed; leave the vehicle untouched.
  • Broken housing, burned wiring or uncertain required-light operation: Unknown assembly, damaged wiring or unresolved required light: arrange lighting inspection.

Which replacement or inspection path is established?

  • Exact failed lamp and a supported bulb or LED-service path recorded: Is the named lamp matched to the correct bulb procedure or dealer-only LED assembly path?
  • Unknown assembly, damaged wiring or unresolved required light: arrange lighting inspection.: Unknown assembly, damaged wiring or unresolved required light: arrange lighting inspection.
  • I have only prepared the plan: Plan prepared; no physical maintenance result recorded.

Is the named lamp matched to the correct bulb procedure or dealer-only LED assembly path?
