Your pack record

Work through the stages in order. Open the linked plans to make the relevant observations, then return here to keep the result.

STAGE 1

Preserve the due items

Copy oil life and all displayed main/sub-item codes before any reset.

Keep: An unchanged pre-service display record and booking urgency.

STAGE 2

Reconcile history and book work

Match actual invoices and the annual oil-service safeguard to the displayed items.

Keep: A dated outstanding-work calendar with known completion evidence and a chosen appointment.

STAGE 3

Verify work before resetting

Reconcile the completed indicated work, then record the expected reset display.

Keep: Service completion evidence, before/after display and the next review action.

Review your next step

  • Every displayed item appears in the service plan.
  • A chosen appointment is kept separate from a manufacturer requirement.
  • The reset has actual completed-work evidence for all indicated items.

Include the unresolved items so this record is useful at the next check or service visit.

Complete task plans

Read each linked plan here, or open its task page to keep a separate observation record. Printed copies include every plan.

Read Maintenance Minder service items

Distinguish remaining oil life from the service items that still need attention.

Vehicle: 2015 Honda Fit · US

Applicability and exclusions

  • Other model years and markets; imported Jazz or Fit Hybrid; modified or aftermarket components with a different procedure.

Preparation, tools and materials

  • Park in a safe place away from traffic. Work with the vehicle stationary, parking brake set and ignition off unless a step explicitly calls for a parked functional check.
  • Is the vehicle stationary, safely parked, with access to the select/reset knob?
  • Keep children and pets away from tools, fluids and coin cells. Never enter underneath the vehicle.
  • Owner’s manual
  • Local note paper
  • No consumable needed.

Record the evidence

Copy the display before interpreting it and preserve every main/sub-item without resetting.

  • Displayed oil life (%)
  • Displayed main item
  • Every displayed sub-item
  • Due-soon, due, overdue or unknown display

Steps

  1. With the vehicle parked, turn the ignition to ON without starting; smart-entry models use their ENGINE START/STOP control.
  2. Press the select/reset knob repeatedly until engine oil life is displayed.
  3. Record the oil-life display and each main / sub-item code. Read the matching list on printed page 359 rather than assuming every code means only an oil change.
  4. Use the due-soon / due / overdue wording on printed page 358 to prepare a service booking. At 0% the manual calls for indicated maintenance immediately.
  5. Turn the ignition off. Keep the display unchanged until the indicated work has been performed.
  6. Copy the display before interpreting it and preserve every main/sub-item without resetting.

Decision checks

Is the vehicle stationary, safely parked, with access to the select/reset knob?

  • Yes — ready for this check: Continue with the steps, stopping if the real component differs from the manual.
  • Not yet / not sure: Preparation saved. Return when the condition is confirmed; leave the vehicle untouched.
  • A red warning, drivability fault or uncertainty about a displayed code: Unrecognized code or additional warning: arrange inspection, with no reset.

What have you recorded?

  • Displayed percentage and service codes recorded for an appropriate service booking: Have all displayed codes been matched to the service-item table without a reset?
  • Unrecognized code or additional warning: arrange inspection, with no reset.: Unrecognized code or additional warning: arrange inspection, with no reset.
  • I have only prepared the plan: Plan prepared; no physical maintenance result recorded.

  • The observation or repeat check is still incomplete: Plan prepared; no physical maintenance result recorded.
  • Unknown code, extra warning or display cannot be interpreted: Unrecognized code or additional warning: arrange inspection, with no reset.

Recheck

At the booking or next parked display check, do the recorded codes still match the screen and requested work?

Stop and get help if

  • A red warning, drivability fault or uncertainty about a displayed code
  • Unrecognized code or additional warning: arrange inspection, with no reset.
  • A part, label, connector or fastener differs from the cited manual; access requires raising the vehicle; you cannot identify the correct component.

Applicability and exclusions

Preparation, tools and materials

  • Park in a safe place away from traffic. Work with the vehicle stationary, parking brake set and ignition off unless a step explicitly calls for a parked functional check.
  • Can the current codes and last oil service date be read without guessing?
  • Keep children and pets away from tools, fluids and coin cells. Never enter underneath the vehicle.
  • Current Maintenance Minder record
  • Dated service invoices
  • No consumable needed

Record the evidence

Record evidence dates and chosen appointment dates separately; copy all outstanding indicated work.

  • Current codes and urgency
  • Actual last oil service date and evidence
  • Outstanding/unknown indicated work
  • Next booking or review date and reason

Steps

  1. Copy the current oil-life percentage and every main/sub-item code while parked. Keep the original display unchanged.
  2. Match each code to the service-item table on printed page 359, then mark the invoice item complete, outstanding or unknown. Route professional work to a service booking.
  3. Record the last actual oil service date. If no SERVICE message appears more than twelve months after reset, Honda requires an annual oil change. A reset date is not proof of an oil change.
  4. Use the displayed due-soon, due or overdue status to set the booking priority. Indicated overdue service needs immediate attention; do not defer it to a chosen calendar date.
  5. Save a next review date and the outstanding work list. Keep a proposed appointment separate from the manufacturer’s requirement and reset only after all indicated work is verified.
  6. Record evidence dates and chosen appointment dates separately; copy all outstanding indicated work.
