What was reported?

Transmission control settings can damage the drive pulley shaft. A damaged shaft may break, leading to loss of acceleration or front-wheel lockup and a higher crash risk.

Before the repair

If loss of acceleration or abnormal transmission behavior is occurring, stop safely and ask for assistance. Do not perform a road test to provoke the problem. Tell the service provider about the symptom as well as the recall number.

What the manufacturer remedy covers

The reported recall remedy is a free transmission software update by the dealer. An update record and a diagnosis of an existing drivability problem answer different questions; ask Honda to address both when symptoms are present.

Keep this distinction clear

This campaign describes a control-software remedy for a mechanical damage risk. A fluid top-up, warning reset or symptom-free drive does not establish that the campaign update was installed.

Questions for the service provider

  • Is campaign 15V574000 open for this VIN?
  • Does Honda identify it as JU3 for this Fit or JU2 for this Civic?
  • Is the completed transmission update documented?
  • Do the symptoms require a separate inspection in addition to recall work?

Useful observations to keep

  • Vehicle model and the manufacturer’s VIN-check result
  • The drivability symptom and date, without attempting a reproduction
  • Software update work-order date and any unresolved diagnosis

After the visit

Keep the update record and the separate symptom outcome. Seek further service for unresolved drivability problems rather than marking them fixed because an update was completed.

A booking or a saved worksheet records your next step. The manufacturer’s service record establishes which recall work was performed.

Sources and lookup limits

NHTSA campaign 15V574000: official data · Official lookup and its coverage limits

The guide summarizes the reported issue and remedy as checked on 20 October 2026. Contact the manufacturer for current eligibility, remedy availability and interim instructions. Completed recalls, some recent campaigns and recalls outside the tool’s coverage may not appear in a VIN lookup. A zero-open-recalls result does not diagnose an unresolved symptom.
