What the official report says

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014 Transit Connect vehicles equipped with a Panoramic Fixed-Glass Vista roof. An improper bond may exist between the panoramic roof and the vehicle body, which may result in the panel separating from the vehicle.

Why the reported issue matters

Panoramic roof panel separation while driving can increase the risk of an injury or crash.

Prepare your observation

Keep the affected display or visibility function and the circumstances of an observed problem in the record. Do not recreate a visibility failure in traffic.

A reported defect describes the campaign. It does not establish what caused a symptom on your individual vehicle, and absence of a symptom does not establish that an open recall is complete.

The reported manufacturer remedy

Dealers will remove, clean, and reinstall the panoramic roof panel, free of charge. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 16V-695. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S35.

Your campaign-specific service questions

Use these questions with the official report. Keep the answers beside the remedy record; “discussed” records a conversation, not a completed repair.

  1. Does the manufacturer confirm that campaign 21V977000 applies to this VIN, including the report’s equipment and production restrictions?

A matching model and year is only a starting point. The official lookup or manufacturer must establish the individual vehicle’s status.

  2. What remedy, required parts or software, and appointment arrangements are currently available for this VIN, and which interim instructions apply?

The source does not explicitly establish current remedy availability. Ask the manufacturer about the applicable remedy, required parts or software, appointment arrangements and any interim instructions.

  3. Which image, lamp or visibility function is covered by this campaign, and what should I do while the remedy is outstanding?

Compare the answer with the reported component: VISIBILITY:FIXED PANARAMIC ROOF/SKY LIGHT ASSEMBLY.

  4. Which reported corrective actions (reinstall, remove, clean) were performed under 21V977000, and which component or function did they address?

Compare the provider’s answer with the exact remedy below. Keep the action and affected component on the work order; ordinary maintenance or a visual check may describe different work.

  5. How does this campaign relate to 16V695000, and does work recorded under an earlier campaign satisfy the current remedy?

Show any earlier work order. Related recall numbers can describe expanded or repeated work; ask the manufacturer to reconcile the records.

  6. What dated document records the remedy performed under 21V977000, and what should I do if the reported concern remains?

Keep campaign completion and unresolved symptoms as separate questions. A saved worksheet or booked appointment does not establish a repair.
