What the official report says

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2024 Cayenne vehicles. The driver's side front axle upper left control arm installed on the vehicles may have been installed with cracks, which can result in front axle control arm breaking and an unexpected loss of steering and wheel control.

Official NHTSA campaign record

Why the reported issue matters

A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

Prepare your observation

Keep existing observations and service records. Leave lifting, fastener work and suspension inspections to the appropriate service provider.

A reported defect describes the campaign. It does not establish what caused a symptom on your individual vehicle, and absence of a symptom does not establish that an open recall is complete.

The reported manufacturer remedy

Dealers will replace the driver side left upper control arm, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 13, 2024. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ARB2.

Your campaign-specific service questions

Use these questions with the official report. Keep the answers beside the remedy record; “discussed” records a conversation, not a completed repair.

  1. Does the manufacturer confirm that campaign 24V533000 applies to this VIN, including the report’s equipment and production restrictions?

A matching model and year is only a starting point. The official lookup or manufacturer must establish the individual vehicle’s status.

  2. What transport arrangement should I use while the official do-not-drive instruction applies?

Ask the manufacturer or dealer to arrange the next step without driving an affected, unrepaired vehicle.

  3. What remedy, required parts or software, and appointment arrangements are currently available for this VIN, and which interim instructions apply?

The source does not explicitly establish current remedy availability. Ask the manufacturer about the applicable remedy, required parts or software, appointment arrangements and any interim instructions.

  4. Which suspension component and inspection or repair result should appear on the work order?

Compare the answer with the reported component: SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:UPPER ARM.

  5. Which items in the reported replacement remedy for 24V533000 were replaced, and are they identified on the work order?

Keep the replaced items and the campaign number together so that a later visit can distinguish recall work from other repairs.

  6. What dated document records the remedy performed under 24V533000, and what should I do if the reported concern remains?

Keep campaign completion and unresolved symptoms as separate questions. A saved worksheet or booked appointment does not establish a repair.
