What the official report says

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. The DC-DC converter may malfunction due to an electrical overload that can occur during high power demand. Additionally, a software error can cause the DC-DC converter to stop functioning at vehicle start-up under certain circumstances. Failure of the DC-DC converter will result in the loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.

Official NHTSA campaign record

Why the reported issue matters

A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Official NHTSA campaign record

Prepare your observation

Keep existing warnings or observations for service. This guide does not ask you to probe wiring, disconnect a battery or open a high-voltage assembly.

A reported defect describes the campaign. It does not establish what caused a symptom on your individual vehicle, and absence of a symptom does not establish that an open recall is complete.

The reported manufacturer remedy

Dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed November 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is E008. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 26V248.

The dated official record describes development, future availability or a later remedy step. It does not establish today’s parts or appointment availability. Confirm the current remedy and any interim instructions with the manufacturer.

Timing language in the official record

Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.

This describes the dated source record. Current arrangements for your VIN remain unconfirmed.

Not checked or unavailable

Keep eligibility unconfirmed. Use the official lookup or contact the manufacturer with 26V599000.

This campaign is open

Confirm current interim instructions, remedy availability and service arrangements. Keep the dated answer.

Not listed as open

Review earlier repair records and lookup limits if needed. A zero-open result does not explain an unresolved symptom.

Work order records recall work

Keep the campaign number, remedy and date together. Ask separately about a symptom that remains after the visit.

Your campaign-specific service questions

Use these questions with the official report. Keep the answers beside the remedy record; “discussed” records a conversation, not a completed repair.

  1. Does the manufacturer confirm that campaign 26V599000 applies to this VIN, including the report’s equipment and production restrictions?

A matching model and year is only a starting point. The official lookup or manufacturer must establish the individual vehicle’s status.

  2. The source describes a pending remedy or parts. What is available now for this VIN, and which interim instructions still apply?

The dated official record describes development, future availability or a later remedy step. It does not establish today’s parts or appointment availability. Confirm the current remedy and any interim instructions with the manufacturer.

  3. Does the prescribed software remedy address both high-demand overload and the startup software condition described in E008?

The official report describes two failure circumstances affecting the DC-DC converter. Ask the provider to explain the applicable remedy without testing either condition.

  4. What transport and interim instructions apply if 12-Volt charging, exterior lighting or drive power has already been lost?

Keep the existing warning and service history together. A charged 12-Volt battery does not establish that the campaign remedy is complete.

  5. Which electrical component or software function is covered, and what interim charging, parking or use instructions does the manufacturer give?

Compare the answer with the reported component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:DC/DC CONVERTER.

  6. Which module and software completion record demonstrate that the update for 26V599000 was applied?

Ask the service provider how the campaign-specific software remedy is documented. A dashboard reset is not evidence of the specified update.

  7. How does this campaign relate to 26V248000, and does work recorded under an earlier campaign satisfy the current remedy?

Show any earlier work order. Related recall numbers can describe expanded or repeated work; ask the manufacturer to reconcile the records.

  8. What dated document records the remedy performed under 26V599000, and what should I do if the reported concern remains?

Keep campaign completion and unresolved symptoms as separate questions. A saved worksheet or booked appointment does not establish a repair.
